The challenge
A trading retail unit with faded paint and weathered trim on a highly visible corner elevation.
The unit could not close, and the mansard's deep red had faded unevenly so a straight recoat would have looked blotchy.
Scope of work
- Full wash of block walls and mansard
- Trim and fascia repair
- Block walls finished in white
- Mansard finished in deep red
- Doors, frames and exterior fixtures coordinated
Surface preparation
- Access, hours and staging agreed with the operator before mobilisation; walkways barricaded and signed while work was live.
- Elevations washed to remove road dust, chalking and grime.
- Weathered trim and fascia made good; joints and penetrations sealed.
Coating and finish system
- Primer where the substrate needed it, then white applied to the block field.
- Mansard finished in a deep red built to an even film. A saturated colour over a faded one needs coverage, not one thin coat.
- Doors, frames and fixtures cut in by hand for clean transitions at the storefront glazing.
Scheduling considerations
Worked so the customer entrance stayed open and the parking loss was limited to the elevation in progress.
Equipment struck and stored at the end of each shift so the site was left clear for trading.
The result
A saturated, even red mansard against a clean white block field, restoring the unit's kerb presence on a busy corner.
Delivered with no trading days lost.
